Loonie Wines releases crisp selection

From the sea breezes of McLaren Vale and the pretty Fleurieu Peninsula to the cool climate of the Adelaide Hills, Loonie Wines is making wines to reflect these South Australian regions.

The 2020 Sauvignon Blanc ($30) is crisp and fresh, with elegant minerality and great length. The 2020 Colab and Bloom Rosé ($27.50) is made from Sangiovese grapes giving it a savoury element, while you can taste wild strawberries too, while the Colab and Bloom Pinot Gris ($27.50) has a lively citrus zing to it, with pears and apples too. You can buy the wines here.

Long-term friends and colleagues, Norm Doole, Mike Farmilo and Nick Whiteway have combined forces to make wine together. Norm has been growing grapes and making wine in McLaren Vale and at his home vineyard in the Adelaide Hills for over 30 years.

Mike Farmilo is one of Australia’s most highly awarded winemakers; producing Penfolds and winning the Jimmy Watson Award for Best Red Wine in Australia, twice.

Nick has over 20 years of experience in the industry; including vintages in the Napa Valley, USA and the Douro in Portugal, followed by management roles at premium South Australian wineries. Norm, Mike and Nick are joined by Daniel Zuzolo (formerly Primo Estate winemaker) who oversees all vineyard, winery and production activities for Loonie Wine Co.
